Obama’s Turn Running a ‘Celebrity’ Ad
You know how I said last week that I was confused about John McCain’s efforts to accuse Barack Obama of being a celebrity? Well, now Obama is apparently playing the same game.
Americans like celebrities — we look up to sports stars, movie stars and sometimes even political stars. Based purely on the definition of ‘celebrity’ — a famous or well-known person — both major political candidates qualify.
So what’s wrong with having a well-known president? After all, either way, we’re going to get one with some name recognition. Personally, I’m in favor of name recognition: every business owner I know works hard to get it.
